Above are some images for the brand identity of a semi-secret project that myself and a business partner are undertaking. These images represent a potential name and brand identity for the project. It involves guest lists and the logo is menat to reflect the scoring off of a name on the guest list, hence the slash running through the brands name.

BREAKPOINT
Above is a logo i am creating for a client who is starting up his own web programming business called Breakpoint coding. There are two main inspirations, first is the client request to feature the breakpoint symbol and the assembly of something from nothing. Assembling something from nothing is what has always amazed me about programming. This design can be broken (break) into alternative variations for letter head and business cards.I wanted the design to be resourceful through its ability to be chopped and change yet retain a simple yet complex visual appearance.

MOUNTBATTEN PINK
Above is a swatch of a colour that i find strangely alluring, Mountbatten pink or plymouth pink was invented during the second world war by Louis Mountbatten. The colour was designed to camouflage ships and was also adopted by the british SAS during the desert wars with the Germans. The colour despite its appearances is excellent at night because it does not radiate light and allowed especially are desert troops evade the enemy. I just wanted to share this colour with others so please enjoy.

HANNA
I went to see this movie the other day with my lovely girlfriend kate, by the way if you havent seen it you really should. aAbove is an image of the name of the movie and this graphic is used at the start of the movie and it is really bold and stands out so well. I posted this image because i really love the font used and i wanted others to see it too.

JUST JUICE
Today at work i bought some apple juice at lunch. The particular brand was Just juice, what caught my attention was the packaging and how it stated the 100% purity of the juice and i instantly found it ironic whilst observing the cluttered in your face appearance of its graphics. I feel that something like the above image would be more in line with the ethos of the brand, a kind of "less is more" vibe. I feel that packaging like the Pepsi Raw bottles are a great example, it emphasizes the raw unrefined nature of the product it carries.

FUTURA
I spotted this poster the other day for the oscar winning film The Social Network which if you havent seen you must. What really caught my attention was this beautiful fot used in the poster, its called Futura and its simplicity is a direct result of the fact that all the glyphs are made up of basic geometries such as triangles, squares and circles. I really like this font especially the precise sharpness of the letter "N" in upper case.

MARLBORO
I was sifting through the inter tubes and found an image of the iconic Marlboro red pack. Now im not a smoker i am a designer and it is technically an addiction of some sorts. The reason i have posted this is because i personally think that the Marlboro red packet is a design classic and although i appreciate the importance of the health warnings i do feel they are in some ways a blight on a classic piece of graphic design. In the news of late i heard that the health authorities are thinking of removing all types of graphic from cigarette packaging. There are some designers who have tried to to design new types of packaging design but i think this could be a really interesting brief for designers to undertake.

OSIRIS
I have been asked by a friend who has his own I.T business start up to look into re-designing his logo. The business is called Osiris named after the egyptian god of the underworld so an egyptian theme is a given however i must couple this with a technology theme also. Above are some early examples of where im at with my clients redesign.

A re-design of one of my first outcomes. Although the change is subtle it really finishes the design off well. The number 1 and the exclamation now seem more as one than before.

1 SIMPLE IDEA
Above is a possible design for a idea generation forum/website. The site is called 1 Simple Idea and is currently in development. The premise is a site that allows the open exchange of designs and theories which users can edit and leave feedback. The design i hope to create should be simple fun and hint at the name of the site.

TYPEFACE
This is something i have been doing in my spare time at work, its nothing groundbreaking just something i enjoyed doing. These are just Time New Roman letters that have been inverted on themselves and combined with their original. The end result i think is really cool it is something that at first glance resembles what we all know as the original letter but the shapes that are created are eye candy.
